Gonna dress you up in my love

1_11
I’m working at an upscale department store over break and have a lot of time on my hands to peruse the racks and assemble fun outfits.  The resort pieces are starting to come in, and I’ve finally found the perfect white shirt!  It’s a combination of a super soft ribbed tank and cotton button-down.  My new uniform for Spring: crisp white button-down, jeans, and chic little flats.  A fabulous little extra: a Mignon Faget cuff.

Peach Dreams...

14178331sleeping

I recently popped by a new boutique launched by a legendary upscale department store and learned that the only form of advertising the “cool and edgy” (EEK!) concept store employs is its pathetic attempt at a blog, infused with pop-culture rubbish about Britney’s latest hair color and Beyonce’s new single. While sneaking in a disco nap earlier today, I had a bizarre dream in which I was interviewing for a position at said department store. After being turned down, I lost my “cool as a fan” mentality and screeched, “how dare you turn me down for the job, your blog sucks!”

Needless to say, all ended well and I had quite the realization: Peach is back, baby!

Aye, Candy!

Potccereal Well, almost – what could be more fun that a devilishly sweet breakfast cereal?  Oh, perhaps Johnny Depp’s beautiful face gracing the front of the box!  The new Pirates of the Caribbean cereal is a delicious combination of Lucky Charms and Cocoa Puffs.  What a magnificent way to start the day! I’m eagerly awaiting the sequel, which sails into theaters July 7th

Thirsty

P239810f I know it’s still early in the week, but Tuesday seems to be the new Thursday.  With temperatures soaring above 80 degrees, it’s time to break out the bubbly!  Hit the town or hold your very own “Welcome to July” party and serve up some refreshing Champagne Punch.  Raise your glasses and kick July off on a high note!

Mother Wanted Me to Wear a Kimono!

I just scored a Calvin Klein safari jacket on super sale at Nordstrom – c’est tres chic.  At first I wasn’t sure what to pair it with, but then I realized all I need now is a blue washcloth for a headband – so very Little Edie!

Peach at the Beach

I just returned from an extended vacation at the shore and realized a Peach post is far overdue! After spending all day on the sand and all evening at fun restaurants like Mickey’s Crab House and Big Peckers, I couldn’t wait to indulge my sweet tooth with delectable treats from Candy Kitchen! As with all vacations, I was on the look-out for unique jewelry – my favorite picks: an awesome set of large, lacquered bangles and a gorgeous necklace with orzo-like beads.

Baby, it’s cold outside.  Grab your mittens  (pictured, Burberry Shearling @ Neiman Marcus) and head on out!  In honor of this glorious weekend that seems to be slipping by ever so quickly, I decided to let you in on a little secret, the "Damn-the-Snow" – this delicious concoction even has a little o.j. to help keep those winter sniffles away!

Memes, Laffy Taffy, and BBQ Wings

Via Lauren Cerand, of the wonderfully fabulous LuxLotus:

Four Jobs I've Had: Spa receptionist, Auditing department intern, Professional Celebration specialist (aka party animal), event planner.

Four Movies I Can Watch Over and Over: Rize, Grey Gardens, Wedding Crashers, Anchorman. Honorable mention: Boondock Saints.

Four Places I've Lived: the 'burbs surrounding DC, New York – short but oh so sweet, Upstate New York, and…I’ve got nothing.

Four TV Shows I Love: Arrested Development, Grey’s Anatomy, 7th Heaven, Miami Ink. Honorable mention: Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Four Places I've Vacationed: Bethany Beach (MD), Chicago, San Francisco, Mexico.

Four of My Favorites Dishes: Sweet sticky rice and mango, fried plantains, Honey BBQ wings, and last but not least an intoxicatingly delicious “bodacious burger” from Big Peckers at the beach.

Four Sites I Visit Daily: Facebook, LuxLotus, Style.com, Weather.com - as a fair warning of the “wintry-mix” or thunder-snow that will undoubtedly be unleashed as I head to my 9 o’clock class.

Four Underrated Conversational Topics: The politics of Greek Life at an undeniable nerd factory, Global Warming, the amazing ridiculousness of lyrics in songs such as Laffy Taffy, Saturday morning cartoons.

Plus one that I’m adding – Four Books I can read every day for the rest of my life and still be entertained: Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, Things Fall Apart, Bright Lights Big City.
Honorable mention: Class: A Guide Through the American Status System and The Official Preppy Handbook.

Oh Edie! It's the perfect costume for the day!

Ggbeales_lg

As I sit here watching Grey Gardens for the millionth time, I ponder what life would be like in a world where feeding wild raccoons Wonderbread while wearing a mink is totally the norm.  I just can’t get enough Little Edie.  For those of you who share this admiration for the “fashion icon and philosopher queen,” check out the musical now showing in NYC!
